Fox was born in London in 1894. He joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1916 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of the most successful fighter pilots of the war.

Fox continued to fly throughout the war, and he was eventually promoted to the rank of captain. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Military Cross for his bravery and skill.
After the war, Fox returned to England and became a successful businessman. He died in 1976 at the age of 82.
