Zaneta Dudley knows what it's like to face adversity. Growing up in a low-income neighborhood in Baltimore, she experienced firsthand the challenges facing young Black women.
But Dudley didn't let her circumstances define her. Instead, she used them as fuel to drive her success.
In 2019, Dudley founded Carry On Black Girl, a nonprofit organization that provides education and community support to young Black women in Baltimore.
Carry On Black Girl's mission is to empower young Black women to reach their full potential.
The organization provides a variety of programs, including:
- Tutoring and homework help
- Mentoring and career development
- Leadership development
- Community service
Carry On Black Girl has already made a significant impact on the lives of young Black women in Baltimore.
In just three years, the organization has served over 1,000 young women.
Dudley's work has been recognized by a number of organizations, including the Mayor's Office of Baltimore, the Baltimore City Council, and the United Way.
In 2021, Dudley was named one of the "100 Most Influential People in Baltimore" by The Daily Record.
Dudley's story is an inspiration to us all.
She shows us that no matter what challenges we face, we can overcome them if we have the courage to carry on.
Carry On Black Girl is a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in empowering young Black women.
